Day 2 Tip 2: Exercise - GROAN!

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

Anxiety Relief Exercise
Exercise

If you are like me you hear the word exercise and you let out a little groan.

Like healthy eating, you know you “should” but maybe binge-watching the latest series of Game of Thrones is wayyy more appealing.

But let me tell you, just 10minutes of exercise is enough to stimulate anti-anxiety effects.

Our body releases endorphins when we work out.

The “feel-good” hormone.

Which not only makes us feel good but also relaxes us and enables us to get a better quality of sleep which in turn means we are less stressed.

In one study, researchers found that those who got regular vigorous exercise were 25% less likely to develop depression or an anxiety disorder over the next 5 years.

If that isn’t an advert to work out I don’t know what is!

The key to sticking to working out is finding something you enjoy.

It can be anything that gets your heart rate up. If its roller skating, swimming or maybe even taking the dog for a brisk walk. YES!

Moral of this story: Workout for ten minutes a day, so you feel good about yourself and are less stressed therefore reducing your anxiety.
